Description

A friendly and supportive class for intermediate acrylic painters who want to learn new skills and techniques.

This course will be delivered at Stoke Lodge but will move online if necessary using ZOOM and WhatsApp.

What can students expect?

Freedom to explore the potential of Acrylic paint, mediums and additives. You will be encouraged to discuss your personal interests and aspirations with the tutor and other students and explore all possibilities and ideas. 

Risk taking will be actively encouraged!

Previous experience required?

Yes. The course is aimed at those with some experience of Acrylic paint who feel ready to loosen up and explore a little further.

Not suitable for beginners.

What should students bring?

To the first session, please bring:

<li>Paint-a selection of colours including yellows, reds and blues, plus white.</li>
<li>Brushes/knives/paint shapers</li>
<li>Mediums for example https://www.jacksonsart.com/winsor-newton-professional-acrylic-mediums-introduction-set</li>
<li>Canvas/supports/paper</li>
<li>Palettes/plastic mixing dishes, etc</li>
<li>Paper towel</li>
<li>Masking tape</li>
<li>An apron or old shirt to protect your clothes</li>
<li>Paper clips or bulldog clips</li>
<li>Two water containers (jam jar or large yogurt pot)</li>
</ul>

 Stable internet connection, a PC or tablet and ability to use ZOOM if course moves online.

Teaching method/style?

By doing, watching, reading and talking to others. You will be encouraged to have an idea and explore ways of making it happen. 

An iPad is great if you have one - you can create albums of other artists work that you admire and collect images from the internet.

Refunds and cancellations

<ul>
<li>If we have to cancel your course your fees will be refunded in full. We are unable to reimburse the cost of materials you may have bought for the course.</li>
<li>If you cancel your course booking a week (7 days) or more before the start date we will refund your fees minus an admin charge of 20%.</li>
<li>If you cancel with less than a week (7 days) before the start date or after the course has started, we will not be able to refund your fees.</li>
<li>Transfers will incur a fee of 10% and must be requested 7 days or more before the start of a course unless you are transferring to another course because your original course was cancelled.</li>
<li>We are not able to offer refunds due to sickness or ill health.</li>
</ul>

 

If you are due a refund you must contact the office within 3 months of the course to arrange payment as we do not keep card details.

When attending an online course, it is a learner’s responsibility to ensure they have adequate internet access before the start of a course. Refunds will not be given for technical failure of a learner’s home computer or their internet access.
