Description

In this one-day workshop you will develop your landscape painting skills. 

We will use the beautiful grounds of Stoke Lodge as our subject matter and the tutor will be on hand to guide you through the day. 

This workshop will take place at Stoke Lodge.

What can students expect?

Learners can try their hand at landscape painting with an experienced artist on hand to guide them through the process. 

If possible, we will paint outside but if weather is against us, we will work from photographs of the beautiful Stoke Lodge (these will be provided by the tutor). 

This is a workshop for people with a little bit of painting experience and is not recommended for beginners.

This workshop will take place at Stoke Lodge.

Previous experience required?

Yes, some painting experience is recommended. Not suitable for beginners.

What is the progression route?

Further workshops and improvers oil courses can be taken at Stoke Lodge.

Work set between sessions?

What should students bring?

To the session, please bring:

· Odourless paint thinner such as Zest It or Sansodor

· Linseed oil, Liquin or another painting medium 
· A selection of brushes of various sizes 
· A couple of canvases or boards, size of your choice 
· Two dippers or small jam jars 
· Oil colours. These are the colours I use and recommend:

* Titanium White

* Yellow Ochre

* Cadmium Yellow Light

* Cadmium Red Light

* Alizarin Crimson

* Burnt Sienna

* Burnt Umber

* Viridian Green

* Cerulean Blue

* Ultramarine Blue

* Ivory Black

 · Optional: you could bring your own field easel if you wish, or we can provide them.

Teaching method/style?

The tutor will be on hand to help you throughout the day, providing feedback to all students and demonstrations as required to help them develop their knowledge and skills.

Refunds and cancellations

<li>If we have to cancel your course your fees will be refunded in full. We are unable to reimburse the cost of materials you may have bought for the course.</li>
<li>If you cancel your course booking a week (7 days) or more before the start date we will refund your fees minus an admin charge of 20%.</li>
<li>If you cancel with less than a week (7 days) before the start date or after the course has started, we will not be able to refund your fees.</li>
<li>Transfers will incur a fee of 10% and must be requested 7 days or more before the start of a course unless you are transferring to another course because your original course was cancelled.</li>
<li>We are not able to offer refunds due to sickness or ill health.</li>
</ul>

 

If you are due a refund you must contact the office within 3 months of the course to arrange payment as we do not keep card details.

When attending an online course, it is a learner’s responsibility to ensure they have adequate internet access before the start of a course. Refunds will not be given for technical failure of a learner’s home computer or their internet access.
