Latin - Part 1 Introduction/Refresher

<p><span style="font-size:12pt"><span style="font-family:&#34;Times New Roman&#34;,serif"><span style="font-family:&#34;Arial&#34;,sans-serif">Embark on a journey of linguistic and cultural discovery exploring the foundations of the Latin language, as well as its primordial origins and continuing influences on the world of today.</span></span></span></p>

<p><span style="font-size:12pt"><span style="font-family:&#34;Times New Roman&#34;,serif"><span style="font-family:&#34;Arial&#34;,sans-serif">Discover the language of ancient Rome in this introductory course, suitable for complete beginners as well as those with some ‘rusty’ knowledge. You will build a solid foundation in how Latin works while exploring the roots of many English words and its strong influence on modern Romance languages such as Italian, French, Portuguese and Spanish.</span></span></span></p>

<p><span style="font-size:12pt"><span style="font-family:&#34;Times New Roman&#34;,serif"><span style="font-family:&#34;Arial&#34;,sans-serif">The course is designed to introduce you to the Latin language or remind you what you have learned before, revising and building on your basic knowledge.</span></span></span></p>

<p><span style="font-size:12pt"><span style="font-family:&#34;Times New Roman&#34;,serif"><span style="font-family:&#34;Arial&#34;,sans-serif">Learners will study the fundamentals of Latin vocabulary (including etymology), grammar and syntax, as well as the cultural context in which the language is rooted. Learners will be introduced to the pronunciation of Latin and will learn about the conjugation of verbs and cases.</span></span></span></p>

<p><span style="font-size:12.0pt"><span style="font-family:&#34;Arial&#34;,sans-serif">We will also explore the lasting impact that Latin has left not just on modern languages, but also deep within the fabric of global contemporary culture.
