Description

An enriching course for experienced watercolour painters, helping participants refine their techniques, deepen their artistic development, and explore new creative possibilities to bring greater depth, confidence, and expression to their work It builds on the Watercolours-Intermediates course.

What can students expect?

Through expert guidance, practical demonstrations, and individual support, you will develop your skills while creating more ambitious and accomplished artwork. Build confidence, explore new techniques, and refine your own distinctive painting style. Working from subjects and reference images of your choice, you will receive tailored one-to-one tuition to support your artistic development and help you achieve your creative goals.

Late starters allowed?

Yes, however it is recommended you join by the second session to make the most of the course.

Previous experience required?

Yes. This course is for experienced painters with at least an intermediate knowledge of watercolours.

What is the progression route?

Learners can re-enrol the following term at Stoke Lodge.

Are there any extra costs?

Yes. Learners supply own materials and equipment.

Work set between sessions?

No set homework, but tutor feedback is available on work completed between sessions.

What should students bring?

Paper

<ul>
<li>300gsm (140lb) cold-pressed (NOT) watercolour paper (e.g. Bockingford). Block format (glued on all sides) or loose sheets. If using loose sheets, masking tape is fine</li>
</ul>

Optional – Stretching Paper

Use a wooden or MDF board (A3 or A2)

Soak paper with a sponge or in cold water (5–10 mins)

Lay flat and tape edges with gummed brown tape

Let dry completely (overnight if possible)

Brushes

Paints

Recommended brands: Winsor & Newton Professional, Mijello Mission, PWC, Daniel Smith, Schmincke

Teaching method/style?

Formal teaching and demonstrations in a supportive environment. Throughout the sessions, learners receive one-to-one tutor support, regular learning checks, guidance, and feedback. Additionally, learners have the opportunity to benefit from their peers' work.

Course Cancellations and Refunds

If we cancel your course

<li>You will receive a full refund of course fees.</li>
<li>We are not responsible for any additional costs, such as materials already purchased.</li>

If you cancel

<ul>
<li>7 days or more before the start date: refund minus a 20% administration fee.</li>
<li>Less than 7 days before the start date or after the course has started: no refund provided.</li>
<li>Enrolments are non-transferable. If you are unable to attend, you will not be able to send another person in your place.</li>
</ul>

Refund processing

<ul>
<li>Refunds for online or telephone enrolments will be made via the original payment method within 14 days of approval. </li>
<li>If you enrolled in the office, you will need to come in with your payment card to arrange a refund.</li>
</ul>

Transfers

<ul>
<li>7 days or more before the start date: transfer minus a 10% transfer fee.</li>
<li>Less than 7 days before the start date or after the course has started: no transfer provided.</li>
<li>All transfers are subject to availability.</li>
<li>Transfers between Language levels may be possible with less than 7 days notice, subject to availability.</li>
<li>Enrolments are non-transferable. If you are unable to attend, you will not be able to send another person in your place.</li>
<li>If we cancel your course, and you wish to transfer to another course this will be free of charge.</li>

Illness and non-attendance
