Description

A one-day introduction to the craft of silversmithing. Enrolments for our silversmithing courses and workshops close 7 days before start date to allow tutor to order silver and stones. Book early to avoid disappointment.

What can students expect?

This practical silversmithing workshop introduces learners to the techniques and skills needed to create a handmade hammered silver band from start to finish. Working with a variety of hand and bench tools, you will learn how to measure and size a ring correctly, cut and form silver into a band, and apply texture using hammering techniques to create your own unique design.

Guided by an experienced silversmith, you will receive step-by-step demonstrations, practical guidance, and ongoing individual support throughout the workshop. Set within a fully equipped workshop, this hands-on experience provides an excellent introduction to silversmithing while offering plenty of opportunities to develop new skills and explore your creativity. By the end of the day, you will have completed your own bespoke hammered silver ring, ready to wear home or gift to someone special.

No. Fee includes silver, materials and equipment needed for 1 ring.

What should students bring?

<li>Long hair to be tied back during some of the making processes</li>

Teaching method/style?

Each stage of the process is demonstrated, with individual support provided as needed, alongside opportunities for discussion and reflection to develop ideas and skills.

Course Cancellations and Refunds

If we cancel your course

<li>You will receive a full refund of course fees.</li>
<li>We are not responsible for any additional costs, such as materials already purchased.</li>

If you cancel

<ul>
<li>7 days or more before the start date: refund minus a 20% administration fee.</li>
<li>Less than 7 days before the start date or after the course has started: no refund provided.</li>
<li>Enrolments are non-transferable. If you are unable to attend, you will not be able to send another person in your place.</li>
</ul>

Refund processing

<ul>
<li>Refunds for online or telephone enrolments will be made via the original payment method within 14 days of approval. </li>
<li>If you enrolled in the office, you will need to come in with your payment card to arrange a refund.</li>
</ul>

Transfers

<ul>
<li>7 days or more before the start date: transfer minus a 10% transfer fee.</li>
<li>Less than 7 days before the start date or after the course has started: no transfer provided.</li>
<li>All transfers are subject to availability.</li>
<li>Transfers between Language levels may be possible with less than 7 days’ notice, subject to availability.</li>
<li>Enrolments are non-transferable. If you are unable to attend, you will not be able to send another person in your place.</li>
<li>If we cancel your course, and you wish to transfer to another course this will be free of charge.</li>
