Description

A welcoming festive lino printing workshop, ideal for beginners or those wishing to develop their printmaking skills, with opportunities to explore linocut techniques, pattern, texture, and composition while creating a collection of unique hand-printed Christmas cards under tutor guidance.

What can students expect?

Learners will discover the popular art of lino printing in this festive workshop.

You will be introduced to the tools and techniques needed to create original lino-printed Christmas cards. 

Through carving, inking and printing, you will make around 10 handmade cards, ready to send to friends and family during the festive season.

Late starters allowed?

No.

Previous experience required?

No. This workshop is suitable for all abilities.

What is the progression route?

Learners can enrol on the “Lino Printing”, “Intaglio & Monotype Printmaking” or other printmaking courses and workshops at Stoke Lodge.

Are there any extra costs?

No. Fee includes materials and equipment.

What should students bring?

<li>Old clothes or an apron, as inks will be used</li>
<li>Design ideas gathered from Google Images, Pinterest, Instagram, or other sources. Plenty of inspiration will also be available on the day.</li>
<li>A willingness to experiment and create</li>
</ul>

Teaching method/style?

Each stage of the process is demonstrated, with individual support provided as needed, alongside opportunities for discussion and reflection to develop ideas and skills.

Equipment Required

See list above. Learners wanting to experiment with printing onto a range of different papers, are welcome to bring those along.

If you cancel

<li>7 days or more before the start date: refund minus a 20% administration fee.</li>
<li>Less than 7 days before the start date or after the course has started: no refund provided.</li>
<li>Enrolments are non-transferable. If you are unable to attend, you will not be able to send another person in your place.</li>
</ul>

Refund processing

<li>Refunds for online or telephone enrolments will be made via the original payment method within 14 days of approval. </li>
<li>If you enrolled in the office, you will need to come in with your payment card to arrange a refund.</li>
</ul>

Transfers

<li>7 days or more before the start date: transfer minus a 10% transfer fee.</li>
<li>Less than 7 days before the start date or after the course has started: no transfer provided.</li>
<li>All transfers are subject to availability.</li>
<li>Transfers between Language levels may be possible with less than 7 days’ notice, subject to availability.</li>
<li>Enrolments are non-transferable. If you are unable to attend, you will not be able to send another person in your place.</li>
<li>If we cancel your course, and you wish to transfer to another course this will be free of charge.</li>
