Description

A course for those who have mastered the basics and want to elevate their craft. This course focuses on creating a garment using the ubiquitous granny square. Learners will create a colourful jumper with a modern twist on a crochet classic. Taught in right-handed technique.

What can students expect?

The granny square is crochet’s most versatile pattern. Using one of your own jumpers as a template, you will crochet granny squares to create your own design. You will discuss swatching (checking if your stitches match the pattern) and calculating the yarn needed. Finally, you will learn how to block your garment and prepare it for wearing. This is not a beginner’s course; some prior crochet knowledge is required. A guide to the yarn needed for this course will be sent before the start of the course. Previous experience required?

Yes. Ideally, you will have some knowledge of crochet basics or have completed the “Learn How To Crochet-Beginners” or “Learn How To Crochet-Intermediates" courses.

What is the progression route?

Learners can enrol on the “Tunisian Crochet-Beginners”, “Crochet Plus: Tunisian Crochet Garnment”, “Crochet Plus: Shoulder Bag” or other intermediate crochet courses.

Are there any extra costs?

Yes. Some materials for the first session are included in the fee, however, learners need to provide yarn and a hook. A guide to the yarn needed for this course will be sent before the start of the course. Please, wait until you receive the guide to buy any yarn.

Work set between sessions?

Practising between sessions is recommended.
