Crochet Plus: Top-Down Garment Bristol Adult Learning

Description

This course focusses on the top-down crochet technique used to create a made-to-measure seamless garment. Fee includes some materials. The course is taught in right-handed technique.

What can students expect?

You will learn the top-down crochet method and create a seamless garment. You will be able to decide the style and length of your garment. You will discuss swatching for your project (checking if your stitches match up with these of a pattern) and how to calculate how much yarn you need to complete it. Finally, you will learn how to block your garment and get it ready to wear. This is not a beginners’ course; you will need some previous knowledge of crochet. Learners MUST contact the tutor before buying any yarn. She will advise on the type of materials you will need to buy before the start of the course and a rough amount of yarn. This course will be delivered at Stoke Lodge.

Late starters allowed?

No.

Previous experience required?

Yes. This is an intermediate course. Ideally you will have some knowledge of crochet basics or have completed the “Learn How To Crochet-Beginners” course.

What is the progression route?

The next step in your crochet journey would be either the “Crochet Plus: Granny Square jumper” or “Introduction To Tunisian Crochet” course.

Are there any extra costs?

Yes. Some materials for the first session will be included in the fee, however, learners need to provide yarn and a hook. Learners MUST contact the tutor before buying any yarn. Work set between sessions?

Practising between sessions is recommended.

A pen to make notes in the handouts.

Demonstrations for the group and 1 to 1 support and guidance.

Refunds and cancellations

<li>If we have to cancel your course your fees will be refunded in full. We are unable to reimburse the cost of materials you may have bought for the course.</li>
<li>If you cancel your course booking a week (7 days) or more before the start date we will refund your fees minus an admin charge of 20%.</li>
<li>If you cancel with less than a week (7 days) before the start date or after the course has started, we will not be able to refund your fees.</li>
<li>Transfers will incur a fee of 10% and must be requested 7 days or more before the start of a course unless you are transferring to another course because your original course was cancelled.</li>
<li>We are not able to offer refunds due to sickness or ill health.</li>
</ul>

 

If you are due a refund you must contact the office within 3 months of the course to arrange payment as we do not keep card details.

When attending an online course, it is a learner’s responsibility to ensure they have adequate internet access before the start of a course. Refunds will not be given for technical failure of a learner’s home computer or their internet access.
