Description

A supportive granny square jumper course for learners who have mastered basic crochet, designed to develop skills, refine techniques, and build confidence while creating a colourful garment with a modern twist on a crochet classic. Taught using the right-handed technique, with support available for left-handed learners who notify the tutor in advance.

What can students expect?

The granny square is crochet’s most versatile pattern. Using one of your own jumpers as a template, you will crochet granny squares to create your own design. 

You will discuss swatching (checking if your stitches match the pattern) and calculating the yarn needed. Finally, you will learn how to block your garment and prepare it for wearing.

Previous experience required?

Yes. Ideally learners will have some knowledge of crochet basics or have completed a “Learn How To Crochet-Beginners” or “Learn How To Crochet-Improvers” course.

What is the progression route?

Learners can enrol on other “Crochet Plus” courses at Stoke Lodge.

Are there any extra costs?

Yes. Some materials for the first session are included in the fee; however, learners need to provide yarn and a hook. A guide to the yarn required for this course will be sent before the start date. Please wait until you receive this guide before purchasing any yarn.

If we cancel your course

If you cancel

<li>7 days or more before the start date: refund minus a 20% administration fee.</li>
<li>Less than 7 days before the start date or after the course has started: no refund provided.</li>
<li>Enrolments are non-transferable. If you are unable to attend, you will not be able to send another person in your place.</li>
</ul>

Refund processing

<li>Refunds for online or telephone enrolments will be made via the original payment method within 14 days of approval. </li>
<li>If you enrolled in the office, you will need to come in with your payment card to arrange a refund.</li>

Transfers

<li>7 days or more before the start date: transfer minus a 10% transfer fee.</li>
<li>Less than 7 days before the start date or after the course has started: no transfer provided.</li>
<li>All transfers are subject to availability.</li>
<li>Transfers between Language levels may be possible with less than 7 days notice, subject to availability.</li>
<li>Enrolments are non-transferable. If you are unable to attend, you will not be able to send another person in your place.</li>
