Description

A supportive crochet sock-making course for learners who have mastered basic crochet, designed to develop skills, refine techniques, and build confidence while creating two pairs of handmade socks. Taught using the right-handed technique, with support available for left-handed learners who notify the tutor in advance.

What can students expect?

You will explore suitable fibres for sock crochet, learn different construction methods including flat and in-the-round techniques, and experiment with stitch patterns, colourwork and design variations. 

The course also covers shaping and finishing techniques, helping you build confidence and expand your crochet knowledge with expert guidance and support throughout.

Late starters allowed?

No.

Previous experience required?

Yes. Ideally learners will have some knowledge of crochet basics or have completed the “Learn How To Crochet-Beginners” course.

What is the progression route?

Learners can enrol on other “Crochet Plus” courses at Stoke Lodge.

Are there any extra costs?

Yes. Some materials for the first session are included in the course fee. Learners will need to provide their own yarn and crochet hook for later projects. Work set between sessions?

Practising between sessions is recommended, as learners may need to work on projects between classes to complete them.

Teaching method/style?

Group demonstrations, one-to-one tutor support, and handouts. Learners can access video demonstrations for home practice.

If we cancel your course

<li>You will receive a full refund of course fees.</li>

If you cancel

<ul>
<li>7 days or more before the start date: refund minus a 20% administration fee.</li>
<li>Less than 7 days before the start date or after the course has started: no refund provided.</li>
<li>Enrolments are non-transferable. If you are unable to attend, you will not be able to send another person in your place.</li>
</ul>

Refund processing

<ul>
<li>Refunds for online or telephone enrolments will be made via the original payment method within 14 days of approval. </li>
<li>If you enrolled in the office, you will need to come in with your payment card to arrange a refund.</li>
</ul>

Transfers

<ul>
<li>7 days or more before the start date: transfer minus a 10% transfer fee.</li>
<li>Less than 7 days before the start date or after the course has started: no transfer provided.</li>
<li>All transfers are subject to availability.</li>
<li>Transfers between Language levels may be possible with less than 7 days notice, subject to availability.</li>
<li>Enrolments are non-transferable. If you are unable to attend, you will not be able to send another person in your place.</li>
<li>If we cancel your course, and you wish to transfer to another course this will be free of charge.</li>
