Description

Japanese Gardens - Explore the mystique and influence of Japanese gardens. The course will cover various Japanese garden styles, how to avoid cliches, learn the proper use of water, planting and stone.

The course is taught by a professional garden designer who grew up in the Far East.

What can students expect?

Japanese garden history (overview), cultural context and geological influence on specific garden styles, temple gardens, modern interpretations, garden features, traditional mastercrafts, placement of stones, how to select the right plants

Learners may wish to choose themed courses (eg : planting styles, indoor landscapes) or one of Jason’s garden design courses.

Teaching method/style?

Slide presentation and explanation

Learners will be encouraged to share their experiences of their gardens.

Learners will learn through discussions with the tutor and other students, and will be shown a variety of landscaping materials.

<li>Enrolments are non-transferable. If you are unable to attend, you will not be able to send another person in your place.</li>

Refund processing

<li>Refunds for online or telephone enrolments will be made via the original payment method within 14 days of approval. </li>
<li>If you enrolled in the office, you will need to come in with your payment card to arrange a refund.</li>

Transfers

<li>7 days or more before the start date: transfer minus a 10% transfer fee.</li>
<li>Less than 7 days before the start date or after the course has started: no transfer provided.</li>
<li>All transfers are subject to availability.</li>
<li>Transfers between Language levels may be possible with less than 7 days notice, subject to availability.</li>
