Description

Give your garden an informal, more relaxed look. 

Learn how to use carefully selected drifts of plants to look wonderful and attract large numbers of beneficial insects.

We will look at a range of style including prairie planting and wild flower meadows.

What can students expect?

Expect a supportive atmosphere where your ideas will be encouraged; you will not be expected to know Latin plant names. 

You will be introduced to a range of plants and design ideas suitable for creating attractive areas of naturalistic planting.

Learners might like to select another of the Garden Styles courses or choose something like Garden Design or pruning.

Teaching method/style?

Presentation by the tutor: slides will be shown to illustrate certain plants or design ideas.

Learners will learn through discussions with the tutor and other students, and will be shown a variety of plants to handle. 

Learners will be encouraged to share their experiences of their gardens.

Equipment Required

A pen and paper for note taking. Additional notes are often sent via email so it is helpful if learners have an email address although this is not essential.

Refunds and cancellations

<ul>
<li>If we have to cancel your course your fees will be refunded in full. We are unable to reimburse the cost of materials you may have bought for the course.</li>
<li>If you cancel your course booking a week (7 days) or more before the start date we will refund your fees minus an admin charge of 20%.</li>
<li>If you cancel with less than a week (7 days) before the start date or after the course has started, we will not be able to refund your fees.</li>
<li>Transfers will incur a fee of 10% and must be requested 7 days or more before the start of a course unless you are transferring to another course because your original course was cancelled.</li>
<li>We are not able to offer refunds due to sickness or ill health.</li>
</ul>

 

If you are due a refund you must contact the office within 3 months of the course to arrange payment as we do not keep card details.

When attending an online course, it is a learner’s responsibility to ensure they have adequate internet access before the start of a course. Refunds will not be given for technical failure of a learner’s home computer or their internet access.
