Description

This course is designed for artists at all skill levels, from beginners looking to build a strong foundation to experienced painters seeking to refine their skills and explore advanced techniques. The tutor will provide tailored guidance and support to help you achieve your artistic goals.

What can students expect?

You will develop confidence and skills to create captivating watercolour paintings, expressing your unique artistic vision. By the end the course, most participants will have acquired a range of new skills and will leave with a sense of pride and accomplishment.

This course will be delivered at Stoke Lodge.

Late starters allowed?

Yes, but this is a short course, so it is best to join by week 2.

Previous experience required?

No previous experience is required for this watercolour course, as it is designed to cater to artists of all levels.

What is the progression route?

Learners can enrol on further courses to develop skills and confidence. Additionally, learners can enrol on Ellie’s Saturday workshops.

Are there any extra costs?

Yes, learners supply own materials.

Work set between sessions?

There is no homework set specifically, but the tutor may provide feedback on anything learners choose to do between sessions.

What should students bring?

<li>Palette</li>
<li>Watercolour brushes</li>
<li>Watercolour paper (Cold Press (NOT) 300g/m² - 140lb recommended) stretched on wooden board and reference picture already transferred/sketched on it and ready to paint</li>
<li>Gummed tape (water activated)</li>
<li>Sponge</li>
<li>Drawing pencil (2H)</li>
<li>Eraser</li>
<li>A4 colour copy of reference picture</li>
<li>Water jar</li>
<li>Spray bottle</li>
</ul>

Teaching method/style?

Formal teaching and demonstrations in a supportive environment. One-to-one tutor support, learning checks, guidance and feedback are given throughout the sessions. Learners will also have the opportunity to learn from the work of their fellow learners.

Equipment Required

See box 8. In addition:

<li>1 Jar masking fluid</li>
<li>1 ruling pen (Artcoe recommended)</li>
<li>1 roll of masking tape</li>

Refunds and cancellations

<ul>
<li>If we have to cancel your course your fees will be refunded in full. We are unable to reimburse the cost of materials you may have bought for the course.</li>
<li>If you cancel your course booking a week (7 days) or more before the start date we will refund your fees minus an admin charge of 20%.</li>
<li>If you cancel with less than a week (7 days) before the start date or after the course has started, we will not be able to refund your fees.</li>
<li>Transfers will incur a fee of 10% and must be requested 7 days or more before the start of a course unless you are transferring to another course because your original course was cancelled.</li>

We are not able to offer refunds due to sickness or ill health. If you are due a refund you must contact the office within 3 months of the course to arrange payment as we do not keep card details. When attending an online course, it is a learner’s responsibility to ensure they have adequate internet access before the start of a course. Refunds will not be given for technical failure of a learner’s home computer or their internet access.
