Description

Collage and collograph are a great combination! They are both made by assembling different pieces to create a new, finished work of art with collographs taking colour and texture a step further. In this course, you will use collage and collograph in new and innovative ways.

What can students expect?

Let your creativity flow! Each week, you will explore a new concept, focusing on themes, materials, and intention. You will explore composition and create contrast using various patterns and textures. You will experiment with colour combinations, among other techniques. This course is suitable for budding and experienced artists alike!

This course will be delivered at Stoke Lodge.

Late starters allowed?

Yes, but this is a short course, so it is best to join by week 2.

Previous experience required?

No.

What is the progression route?

Other art courses.

Are there any extra costs?

Yes. Learners provide their own equipment and materials. In addition, the tutor will provide printing ink for a small fee.

Work set between sessions?

No, but finishing off work at home is encouraged.

What should students bring?

<li>A Swan scalpel </li>
<li>Sharp scissors</li>
<li>A tech pen (a Pilot Pen or similar, available in most stationers and supermarkets)</li>
<li>An unlined notebook</li>
<li>Stiff white A3 cardboard</li>
<li>PVA glue</li>
<li>An envelope of collage materials: magazines with pictures in, coloured paper, printed and patterned ephemera, textured and collected bits and bobs</li>
</ul>

Practical learning in a friendly all ability group.

The materials required will be easily available and the tutor will advise students on what to bring the following week. 

Students may want to acquire specific items like decorative scissors or paper punches if they don’t already have them.

Refunds and cancellations

<ul>
<li>f we have to cancel your course your fees will be refunded in full. We are unable to reimburse the cost of materials you may have bought for the course.</li>
<li>If you cancel your course booking a week (7 days) or more before the start date we will refund your fees minus an admin charge of 20%.</li>
<li>If you cancel with less than a week (7 days) before the start date or after the course has started, we will not be able to refund your fees.</li>
<li>Transfers will incur a fee of 10% and must be requested 7 days or more before the start of a course unless you are transferring to another course because your original course was cancelled.</li>
<li>We are not able to offer refunds due to sickness or ill health.</li>
</ul>

 

If you are due a refund you must contact the office within 3 months of the course to arrange payment as we do not keep card details.

When attending an online course, it is a learner’s responsibility to ensure they have adequate internet access before the start of a course. Refunds will not be given for technical failure of a learner’s home computer or their internet access.
