Description

In this one-day workshop, you will develop your landscape painting skills using the picturesque grounds of Stoke Lodge as inspiration. The tutor will provide guidance throughout the day to help you capture the scenery.

What can students expect?

Learners can explore landscape painting under the guidance of a skilled artist who will lead them through the process. 

Weather permitting, we will paint en plein air; however, if the weather is unfavourable, we will use photographs of the picturesque Stoke Lodge provided by the tutor.

This workshop is designed for individuals with some painting experience and is not suitable for beginners.

This workshop will take place at Stoke Lodge.

Late starters allowed?

No.

Previous experience required?

Yes, some painting experience is recommended. Not suitable for beginners.

What is the progression route?

Additional workshops and advanced courses in oil painting are available at Stoke Lodge.

Are there any extra costs?

Yes. Learners supply own materials.

Work set between sessions?

What should students bring?

<ul>
<li>??????????????Odourless paint thinner such as Zest It or Sansodor</li>
</ul>

· Linseed oil, Liquin or another painting medium

· A selection of brushes of various sizes

· A couple of canvases or boards, size of your choice

· Two dippers or small jam jars

· Oil colours. These are the colours I use and recommend:

* Titanium White

* Yellow Ochre

* Cadmium Yellow Light

* Cadmium Red Light

* Alizarin Crimson

* Burnt Sienna

* Burnt Umber

* Viridian Green

* Cerulean Blue

* Ultramarine Blue

* Ivory Black

 · Optional: you could bring your own field easel if you wish, or we can provide them.

Teaching method/style?

The tutor will be available throughout the day, offering feedback to all learners and giving demonstrations as required.

Refunds and cancellations

<ul>
<li>If we have to cancel your course your fees will be refunded in full. We are unable to reimburse the cost of materials you may have bought for the course.</li>
<li>If you cancel your course booking a week (7 days) or more before the start date we will refund your fees minus an admin charge of 20%.</li>
<li>If you cancel with less than a week (7 days) before the start date or after the course has started, we will not be able to refund your fees.</li>
<li>Transfers will incur a fee of 10% and must be requested 7 days or more before the start of a course unless you are transferring to another course because your original course was cancelled.</li>
<li>We are not able to offer refunds due to sickness or ill health.</li>
</ul>

 

If you are due a refund you must contact the office within 3 months of the course to arrange payment as we do not keep card details.

When attending an online course, it is a learner’s responsibility to ensure they have adequate internet access before the start of a course. Refunds will not be given for technical failure of a learner’s home computer or their internet access.
