Description

A one-day workshop, perfect as a taster session or a chance to complete an unfinished project. Learners bring own piece of furniture. New learners are asked to confirm the suitability of their project by emailing a photo of the item to Nicky at <a href="mailto:nickyhamilton99@gmail.com" style="color:#467886; text-decoration:underline">nickyhamilton99@gmail.com</a> at least one week before the course begins.

What can students expect?

This is a practical, hands-on workshop. After a brief introduction, you will begin working on your project right away. As learners work at different levels on individual pieces, the pace of tuition may vary—thank you for your patience. Please wear practical clothing and sturdy shoes, as the work may involve dust and loose tacks or staples. Our storage space is limited so all pieces MUST be taken home at the end of the workshop. Pieces left behind without prior agreement will be disposed of.

Previous experience required?

This course is ideal for learners with unfinished upholstery projects who prefer not to start a new term. New learners are also welcome and will receive guidance on reupholstering a small item—such as a stool or dining chair—that can be completed in a day. Prior experience with hand or machine sewing is helpful.

What is the progression route?

Learners can re-enrol on a similar workshop, weekly "Upholstery" course or "Upholstery Summer School"to work on other projects.

Are there any extra costs?

Yes. Materials will be provided by the tutor at a moderate cost or can be purchased elsewhere beforehand. Top cover fabric and braid are also required. If buying from the tutor, please bring cash or a cheque book.

Most tools will be available to use but you must bring:

<li>A box of dressmaking pins</li>

Course Cancellations by Us

• If we cancel your course, your fees will be refunded in full.

• We cannot reimburse the cost of any materials you may have purchased.

Cancellations by You

• If you cancel 7 days or more before the course start date: Refund issued minus a 20% administration fee.

• If you cancel less than 7 days before the start date or after the course has started: No refund will be issued.

Transfers

• Transfers must be requested at least 7 days before the course start date.

• A 10% transfer fee applies.

• Transfers due to our cancellation of your original course are free of charge.

Illness and Absence

• No refunds are available for non-attendance due to sickness or ill health.

• Refunds are returned via the original payment method:

• Booked online or by phone ? Refund to the card used.

• Paid in person at Stoke Lodge ? Please bring your payment card to the office.

Online Course Access

• Learners are responsible for ensuring they have suitable internet access and equipment before the course begins.

• No refunds will be issued due to technical issues with a learner’s own internet or computer.
