Description
<p><span style="font-size:12.0pt"><span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Continue learning the best card game ever! Refresh and build up your knowledge of bidding (Standard English Acol system) and improve your play as declarer or defender. This course is for those continuing from Beginners or restarting after a gap.</span></span></p>
What can students expect?
<p><span style="font-size:12pt"><span style="font-family:"Times New Roman",serif"><span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Bridge is a game for two partnerships at each table, but you do not need a partner to join the class. In class you will learn through demonstration by the tutor, quiz / exercises and practice cardplay. You will play with other class members at your table, so some turn taking may be needed. </span></span></span></p>
<p><span style="font-size:12pt"><span style="font-family:"Times New Roman",serif"><span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">The focus is mainly to re-inforce the basic system rather than introducing new topics. </span></span></span></p>

Previous experience required?

What is the progression route?
<p><span style="font-size:12pt"><span style="font-family:"Times New Roman",serif"><span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">You can continue on to the next term to continue learning. Members of the class are encouraged to meet up between lessons to play.</span></span></span></p>
Are there any extra costs?
<p><span style="font-size:12.0pt"><span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Recommended book approx £30 - optional purchase via tutor within the first few weeks of course. Some additional material may be made available online. Online play or practice may incur small charges.</span></span></p>
Work set between sessions?
<p><span style="font-size:12.0pt"><span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">The recommended text book / workbook has reading and set exercises, consistent with lesson content. Online material, including some video lessons may be watched in between classes. </span></span></p>
What should students bring?
<p><span style="font-size:16px">Pen and paper. </span></p>
Teaching method/style?
<p><span style="font-size:12.0pt"><span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Screen presentations of topics / theory / quizzes and demonstrations of card play. Card play at each table to practice each new topic.</span></span></p>

Refunds and cancellations

<li><span style="font-size:12pt"><span style="font-family:"Times New Roman",serif"><span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">If we have to cancel your course your fees will be refunded in full. We are unable to reimburse the cost of materials you may have bought for the course.</span></span></span></li>
<li><span style="font-size:12pt"><span style="font-family:"Times New Roman",serif"><span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">If you cancel your course booking a week (7 days) or more before the start date we will refund your fees minus an admin charge of 20%.</span></span></span></li>
<li><span style="font-size:12pt"><span style="font-family:"Times New Roman",serif"><span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">If you cancel with less than a week (7 days) before the start date or after the course has started, we will not be able to refund your fees.</span></span></span></li>
<li><span style="font-size:12pt"><span style="font-family:"Times New Roman",serif"><span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Transfers will incur a fee of 10% and must be requested 7 days or more before the start of a course unless you are transferring to another course because your original course was cancelled.</span></span></span></li>
<li><span style="font-size:12pt"><span style="font-family:"Times New Roman",serif"><span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">We are not able to offer refunds due to sickness or ill health.</span></span></span></li>

<p><span style="font-size:12pt"><span style="font-family:"Times New Roman",serif"><span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">If you are due a refund you must contact the office within 3 months of the course to arrange payment as we do not keep card details.</span></span></span></p>
<p><span style="font-size:12pt"><span style="font-family:"Times New Roman",serif"><span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">When attending an online course, it is a learner’s responsibility to ensure they have adequate internet access before the start of a course. Refunds will not be given for technical failure of a learner’s home computer or their internet access.</span></span></span></p>
