What can students expect?
<p><span style="font-size:16px">Stimulating discussion about the value of being, the value of thinking and the meaning of life as expounded by various thinkers while sharpening our own critical minds, challenging our understanding and developing new ways of thinking about the world around us, our families and society at large. Part 2 will cover great thinkers such as Rene Descartes and the rationalist school, Immanuel Kant and Idealism, David Hume and the empiricist school, the political philosophy of Rousseau, and existentialism of Paul Sartre. This is a fantastic course for anyone who would like to learn about the history of philosophy and is interested in critical thinking. It is for all who have never had experience of studying the subject as well as those who might have studied some modules before.</span></p>
Late starters allowed?

Previous experience required?
<p><span style="font-size:16px">No not at all. You only need to have a sense of wonder, curiosity and desire to know. You do not need previous experience of Philosophy but having done Part 1 would be an advantage.</span></p>
What is the progression route?
<p><span style="font-size:16px">You can continue with Part 3, and then later part 4.</span></p>
Work set between sessions?
<p><span style="font-size:16px">No but learners will be recommended to do some reading or watch some podcasts. This is optional.</span></p>
What should students bring?
<p><span style="font-size:16px">Pen and paper, and an open mind, ready to ask questions.</span></p>
Teaching method/style?
<p><span style="font-size:16px">- Presentation of ideas by the tutor.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-size:16px">- Discussion in small groups and discussion in the larger group.</span></p>
