What can students expect?

<span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">We will look at the history and evolution of ancient Greek theatre – how it emerged from a religious ritual as well as its links to democracy. Examples will be selected from tragedies and comedies to illustrate the main themes. This course is designed as an entertaining introduction rather than a heavy-weight academic course for experts. Students who have no knowledge whatsoever of the ancient world will be made just as welcome as those with previous knowledge who want a refresher course. There will be plenty of pictures to help bring the ancient world alive.
