Brothers Charles and James both trod a tightrope as monarchs – one successfully, one disastrously.</span></span></p>

We look at how this remarkable man lied and cheated his way through his long and successful reign, only to be followed by a collapse of the monarchy under his brother, James. It is a fascinating period that sees the birth of the world that we exist in today.</span></span></p>
