For fifty years Alexander’s former comrades bitterly contested for the title of ‘Great King’. During this time Greek art and culture flourished across an enormous area, only to be gradually drawn under the imperium of Rome. An often over-looked period, this was a time of super-rich kings, interesting characters, and changes that created the foundations for both the Roman and medieval worlds.
