The first half of the course will examine the origins and consequences of the Spanish Civil War (1936-1939). The second part of the course aims to explore and understand the nature of Franco’s dictatorship and how the transition to democracy in Spain evolved.

<p><span style="font-size:12.0pt"><span style="font-family:&#34;Arial&#34;,sans-serif">This course aims to understand the enduring debate about the Civil War in Spanish society by analysing the conflict, its consequences and how they conditioned Spain’s past and present-day society. This course also aims to understand the nature of Franco’s dictatorship and how the transition to democracy in Spain developed.</span></span></p>

What can students expect?

<p><span style="font-size:16px"><span style="font-family:&#34;Times New Roman&#34;,serif"><span style="font-family:&#34;Arial&#34;,sans-serif">This course aims to understand the enduring debate about the Civil War in Spanish society by analysing the conflict, its consequences and how they conditioned Spain’s past and present-day society. Learners can expect to explore the periods of Franco’s dictatorship and Spanish’s transition to democracy through the study of literary works and audio-visual productions. Students can expect to get a better understanding of how recent political events in Spain might have occurred.</span></span></span></p>

Refunds and cancellations

We are unable to reimburse the cost of materials you may have bought for the course.</span></span></span></li>
