Catalan Trays, also known as Tension Trays are a great introduction into weaving and produce beautiful effective results.
Using willow to weave a hoop and then cutting sticks to make a basic stick tray. We will weave a decorative edge to the tray. 

Your finished tray makes a stylish serving platter and looks great hung on the wall when not in use.

Make a willow hoop then overweave this with willow sticks to make a tray

We will use long 6 to 7 foot pieces of willow to learn to make a willow hoop. We will then cut willow sticks to weave over the hoop and form a tray

Joining other willow craft courses

Cost of the willow and preparation of the willow:  £8, payable to the tutor on the day

I provide all the tools you will need, but you are welcome to bring your own secateurs.You might like to wear an apron to protect your clothes from snagging on the willow.

I would avoid wearing a loose knit jumper. Clothing layers can be good as we may need to open windows if the willow is drying out.

You can bring a notebook and pen/pencil if you wish to make notes and can take photographs with your camera or phone.

Demonstration of techniques followed by supervised practice

• If we have to cancel your course your fees will be refunded in full. We are unable to reimburse the cost of materials you may have bought for the course.
• If you cancel your course booking a week (7 days) or more before the start date we will refund your fees minus an admin charge of 20%.
• If you cancel with less than a week (7 days) before the start date or after the course has started, we will not be able to refund your fees.
• Transfers will incur a fee of 10% and must be requested 7 days or more before the start of a course unless you are transferring to another course because your original course was cancelled.
• We are not able to offer refunds due to sickness or ill health.

If you are due a refund you must contact the office within 3 months of the course to arrange payment as we do not keep card details.

When attending an online course, it is a learner’s responsibility to ensure they have adequate internet access before the start of a course. Refunds will not be given for technical failure of a learner’s home computer or their internet access.
