Description

This course is a continuation of the September Level 1 A, Part 1 course. Learners wishing to join Part 2 must have studied Spanish at a very basic level for app 30 hours. The course aims to enable students to communicate competently in Spanish in routine everyday situations.

What can students expect?

The course will introduce further key vocabulary and grammar to enable learners to acquire a good basic foundation of the language.

Combining all aspects of language learning, your teacher will provide you with the tools to confidently participate in each lesson and make steady and consistent progress. 

Learners will be learning more simple expressions, vocabulary and grammar to enable them to get by in everyday situations such as: 

- greetings: saying hello / goodbye

- making introductions: self and others

- getting to know people

- talking about themselves, their family and general interests

- ordering a snack/drink in a bar/café / restaurant/ shop

- asking what there is in town and how to get about

- asking about meaning, pronunciation and spelling of words

- asking for repetition

Yes, as long as they join before week 3

Previous experience required?

Yes, learners should have studied Spanish at complete beginners’ level for at least 30 hours.

Are there any extra costs?

Yes, a course book may be used; details will be given at the first session.

Work set between sessions?

Yes. Some homework exercises will be set every week, in order to enable learners to consolidate what they have learned during the sessions.

Teaching method/style?

The course is based on the communicative approach:

- active student interaction and participation

- emphasis on speaking and listening skills

- also some reading and basic writing activities

- pair, small group and whole class work

- role plays

- use of realia, pictures and authentic material

- use of audio-visual techniques when appropriate

<li>Less than 7 days before the start date or after the course has started: no refund provided.</li>
<li>Enrolments are non-transferable. If you are unable to attend, you will not be able to send another person in your place.</li>

Refund processing

<li>Refunds for online or telephone enrolments will be made via the original payment method within 14 days of approval. </li>
<li>If you enrolled in the office, you will need to come in with your payment card to arrange a refund.</li>

Transfers

<li>7 days or more before the start date: transfer minus a 10% transfer fee.</li>
<li>Less than 7 days before the start date or after the course has started: no transfer provided.</li>
<li>All transfers are subject to availability.</li>
<li>Transfers between Language levels may be possible with less than 7 days notice, subject to availability.</li>
<li>Enrolments are non-transferable. If you are unable to attend, you will not be able to send another person in your place.</li>
<li>If we cancel your course, and you wish to transfer to another course this will be free of charge.</li>
