Description

A course for students who have some basic knowledge of Spanish. Not suitable for complete beginners. The course aims to consolidate and develop students’ basic knowledge of Spanish.

What can students expect?

Combining all aspects of language learning, your teacher will provide you with the tools to confidently participate in each lesson and make steady and consistent progress. 

You will be learning expressions, vocabulary and grammar to enable you to get by in routine everyday and social situations such as for example:

- give specific information about yourself and others

- describe your daily routine

- describe your leisure activities

- ask and understand directions

- buy food

- going shopping

Late starters allowed?

Yes, provided late starters can work at the same level as the rest of the class at the time of joining.

Previous experience required?

Yes, learners should have completed a beginners' course at Level 1A, Term 1 and 2. For example, have learnt Spanish for app 60 hours

What is the progression route?

Spanish Level 1 B, Term 2

Are there any extra costs?

Yes, a course book may be used; details will be given at the first session.

Work set between sessions?

Yes. Some homework exercises will be set every week, in order to enable learners to consolidate what they have learnt during the sessions

An A4 ringbinder for handouts and photocopies

Teaching method/style?

The course is based on the communicative / functional approach:

- active student interaction and participation

- emphasis on speaking and listening skills

- also some reading and basic writing activities

- pair, small group and whole class work

- role plays and games

- use of realia, pictures and authentic material

- use of audio-visual techniques when appropriate

- some grammar exercises and homework will be set

If we cancel your course

If you cancel

<li>7 days or more before the start date: refund minus a 20% administration fee.</li>
<li>Less than 7 days before the start date or after the course has started: no refund provided.</li>
<li>Enrolments are non-transferable. If you are unable to attend, you will not be able to send another person in your place.</li>
</ul>

Refund processing

<li>Refunds for online or telephone enrolments will be made via the original payment method within 14 days of approval. </li>
<li>If you enrolled in the office, you will need to come in with your payment card to arrange a refund.</li>
</ul>

Transfers

<ul>
<li>7 days or more before the start date: transfer minus a 10% transfer fee.</li>
<li>Less than 7 days before the start date or after the course has started: no transfer provided.</li>
<li>All transfers are subject to availability.</li>
<li>Transfers between Language levels may be possible with less than 7 days notice, subject to availability.</li>
<li>Enrolments are non-transferable. If you are unable to attend, you will not be able to send another person in your place.</li>
<li>If we cancel your course, and you wish to transfer to another course this will be free of charge.</li>
