Description

This course is for learners who wish to reinforce and consolidate the Italian they have previously learned on beginners courses.

What can students expect?

To reinforce the Italian previously learned on a Level 1A and B and Level 1B, Part 1 courses, as well as extend new vocabulary, key phrases, more complex expressions and grammar to enable learners to communicate in basic everyday, familiar and social situations.

The course might cover amongst many other topics: daily routine, work, means of transport, leisure activities, talking about the past.

 

This course will be delivered at Stoke Lodge but will move to online delivery if necessary.

Late starters allowed?

Yes, provided late starters can work at the same level as the rest of the class at the time of joining.

Previous experience required?

Yes, learners should have completed a beginners' course ( Level 1 A ), and a Level 1 B, Term 1 course, ie have learnt Italian for app 90 hours

What is the progression route?

Italian Level 1C.

Are there any extra costs?

Yes, a course book may be used; details will be given at the first session.

Work set between sessions?

Yes. Some homework exercises will be set every week, in order to enable learners to consolidate what they have learned during the sessions.

Teaching method/style?

The course is based on the communicative / functional approach:

- active student interaction and participation

- emphasis on speaking and listening skills

- also some reading and basic writing activities

- pair, small group and whole class work

- role plays and games

- use of realia, pictures and authentic material

- use of audio-visual techniques when appropriate

- some grammar exercises and homework will be set

Equipment Required

Stable internet connection, a PC or tablet if the course moves online.
