Description

This course is for complete beginners, who have not learnt Italian before.

The course will introduce elementary key vocabulary and grammar to enable learners to acquire a basic foundation of Italian and to get by in everyday situations.

What can students expect?

Get a flavour of Italian and Italy in this course. Learn some useful phrases that you can use when visiting any Italian speaking country. An excellent introduction for beginners, who will be introduced to a range vocabulary, grammar and pronunciation, providing them with all the basic knowledge of the language.

Late starters allowed?

Yes, as long as they join before week 3

Yes, a course book may be used; details will be given at the first session

Work set between sessions?

Yes. Some homework exercises will be set every week, in order to enable learners to consolidate what they have learned during the sessions

An A4 ringbinder for handouts and photocopies

Teaching method/style?

The course is based on the communicative approach:

- active student interaction

- emphasis on speaking and listening skills

- also some reading and basic writing activities

- pair, small group and whole class work

- role play

- use of realia, pictures and authentic material

- use of audio-visual techniques when appropriate

Transfers

<li>Transfers must be requested at least 7 days before the course start date. </li>
</ul>

<li>A 10% transfer fee applies. </li>

<li>Transfers due to our cancellation of your original course are free of charge. </li>

Illness and Absence

<li>No refunds are available for non-attendance due to sickness or ill health.</li>
