Description

Brush up and improve your German in this intermediate level course which will give you the opportunity to revise and consolidate the language structures learnt in previous years. You will be able to communicate more fully and fluently on a wider range of topical issues and everyday situations, and focus on developing all four skills.

What can students expect?

The course will focus on improving spoken German. There will be plenty of opportunity to practice in class, through the use of a wide variety of teaching methods. A variety of topics will be used to learn new vocabulary and grammatical constructions. 

The aim of the course is to improve speaking and listening skills; to learn new vocabulary and to develop confidence in using a variety of tenses and grammatical constructions.

Late starters allowed?

Yes, provided late starters can work at the same level as the rest of the class at the time of joining.

Previous experience required?

Yes, Students should have completed courses at level 1 and 2 A, ie at least 3 + years of study, or have an equivalent level

What is the progression route?

Level 2 C

Are there any extra costs?

Yes, a course book may be used. Details will be given at the first session

Work set between sessions?

Yes. Some homework will be set every week, in order to enable learners to reinforce what they have learnt during each session

Teaching method/style?

Communicative language teaching method, involving eg 

- listening to course book CD, the tutor, other students, the radio, podcasts, songs, 

 conversations, 

- reading texts in course book, newspapers and magazine articles, short stories- 

- asking and answering questions 

- oral practice in pairs, small groups and whole class work 

- pair work and role plays, group discussions 

- talking about a variety of current topics 

- games and grammar exercises

If we cancel your course

If you cancel

<li>7 days or more before the start date: refund minus a 20% administration fee.</li>
<li>Less than 7 days before the start date or after the course has started: no refund provided.</li>
<li>Enrolments are non-transferable. If you are unable to attend, you will not be able to send another person in your place.</li>
</ul>

Refund processing

<li>Refunds for online or telephone enrolments will be made via the original payment method within 14 days of approval. </li>
<li>If you enrolled in the office, you will need to come in with your payment card to arrange a refund.</li>
</ul>

Transfers

<ul>
<li>7 days or more before the start date: transfer minus a 10% transfer fee.</li>
<li>Less than 7 days before the start date or after the course has started: no transfer provided.</li>
<li>All transfers are subject to availability.</li>
<li>Transfers between Language levels may be possible with less than 7 days notice, subject to availability.</li>
<li>Enrolments are non-transferable. If you are unable to attend, you will not be able to send another person in your place.</li>
<li>If we cancel your course, and you wish to transfer to another course this will be free of charge.</li>
