Description

<p><span style="font-size:12pt"><span style="font-family:&#34;Times New Roman&#34;,serif"><span style="background-color:white"><span style="font-family:&#34;Helvetica&#34;,sans-serif"><span style="color:#1d1d1b">This stimulating course aims to encourage you to speak more freely in French by developing your speaking and listening skills and thus reinforcing your confidence. The topics covered will deal with more advanced vocabulary and grammar, and the conversations and debates will lead to a greater understanding of France and French speaking countries.</span></span></span></span></span></p>

What can students expect?

<p><span style="font-size:16px"><span style="font-family:&#34;Times New Roman&#34;,serif"><span style="font-family:&#34;Arial&#34;,sans-serif">The course will consist of activities to enable students to improve their fluency, expand vocabulary and knowledge of grammar.</span> </span></span></p>

<p><span style="font-size:16px"><span style="font-family:&#34;Times New Roman&#34;,serif"><span style="font-family:&#34;Arial&#34;,sans-serif">Learners should expect to engage in conversation and use more advanced grammar to enable them to use the language with confidence.</span> </span></span></p>

<p><span style="font-size:16px"><span style="font-family:&#34;Times New Roman&#34;,serif"><span style="font-family:&#34;Arial&#34;,sans-serif">There will be revision exercises and games to practice various tenses and other grammatical points.</span> </span></span></p>

<p><span style="font-size:16px"><span style="font-family:&#34;Times New Roman&#34;,serif"><span style="font-family:&#34;Arial&#34;,sans-serif">Listening practice will be done by using a variety of media.</span> </span></span></p>

<p><span style="font-size:16px"><span style="font-family:&#34;Arial&#34;,sans-serif">Students will be encouraged to read magazine and newspaper articles and be able to talk about current events.</span></span></p>

<p><span style="font-size:16px">This course will be delivered at Stoke Lodge but will move to online delivery if necessary.</span></p>

Work set between sessions?

<p><span style="font-size:16px">Yes. Some homework will be set every week, in order to enable learners to reinforce what they have learnt during each session </span></p>

What should students bring?

<p><span style="font-size:16px">A pen and paper, and perhaps, an A4 ring binder for handouts and photocopies </span></p>

<p><span style="font-size:16px">A good bilingual dictionary would be useful, but is not essential </span></p>
