Description
<p><span style="font-size:16px">This course is for learners who wish to reinforce and consolidate the French they have previously learned on beginners courses. </span></p>
What can students expect?
<p><span style="font-size:16px">To reinforce the French previously learned on a Level 1 A and Level 1 B, Term 1 courses, as well as extend new vocabulary, key phrases, more complex expressions and grammar to enable learners to communicate in a variety of everyday, familiar and social situations. </span></p>
<p><span style="font-size:16px">The course might cover amongst many other topics: daily routine, work, means of transport, leisure activities, talking about the past </span></p>

<p><span style="font-size:16px">Yes, provided late starters can work at the same level as the rest of the class at the time of joining. </span></p>

<p><span style="font-size:16px">Yes, learners should have completed a beginners' course ( Level 1 A ), and a Level 1 B, Term 1 course, ie have learnt French for app 90 hours </span></p>

Are there any extra costs?
<p><span style="font-size:16px">Yes, a course book may be used. Details of this will be given at the first session.</span></p>
Work set between sessions?
<p><span style="font-size:16px">Yes. Some homework will be set every week, in order to enable learners to reinforce what they have learned during the sessions</span></p>
What should students bring?
<p><span style="font-size:16px">An A4 ring binder and paper, pen or pencil.</span></p>
Teaching method/style?

<p><span style="font-size:16px">The course is based on the communicative / functional approach: </span></p>
<p><span style="font-size:16px">- active student interaction and participation </span></p>
<p><span style="font-size:16px">- emphasis on speaking and listening skills </span></p>
<p><span style="font-size:16px">- also some reading and basic writing activities </span></p>
<p><span style="font-size:16px">- pair, small group and whole class work </span></p>
<p><span style="font-size:16px">- role plays and games </span></p>
<p><span style="font-size:16px">- use of realia, pictures and authentic material </span></p>
<p><span style="font-size:16px">- use of audio-visual techniques when appropriate </span></p>
<p><span style="font-size:16px">- some grammar exercises and homework will be set </span></p>
Equipment Required
<p><span style="font-size:16px">A dictionary would be useful, but not necessary.</span></p>
Refunds and cancellations

<li><span style="font-size:12pt"><span style="font-family:"Times New Roman",serif"><span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">If we have to cancel your course your fees will be refunded in full. We are unable to reimburse the cost of materials you may have bought for the course.</span></span></span></li>
<li><span style="font-size:12pt"><span style="font-family:"Times New Roman",serif"><span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">If you cancel your course booking a week (7 days) or more before the start date we will refund your fees minus an admin charge of 20%.</span></span></span></li>
<li><span style="font-size:12pt"><span style="font-family:"Times New Roman",serif"><span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">If you cancel with less than a week (7 days) before the start date or after the course has started, we will not be able to refund your fees.</span></span></span></li>
<li><span style="font-size:12pt"><span style="font-family:"Times New Roman",serif"><span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Transfers will incur a fee of 10% and must be requested 7 days or more before the start of a course unless you are transferring to another course because your original course was cancelled.</span></span></span></li>
<li><span style="font-size:12pt"><span style="font-family:"Times New Roman",serif"><span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">We are not able to offer refunds due to sickness or ill health.</span></span></span></li>

Refunds will not be given for technical failure of a learner’s home computer or their internet access.</span></span></span></p>
