Upon completion, they will have acquired the skills to make a cushion cover, a zipped toiletry bag, and a pair of pyjama shorts or trousers.</span></span></span></p>
What can students expect?
<p><span style="font-size:12pt"><span style="font-family:"Times New Roman",serif"><span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">You will begin by learning to use a sewing machine, including winding a bobbin, threading the machine, changing a needle, and sewing straight lines. As you progress, you will develop your skills and gain confidence through three different projects. </span></span></span></p>
<p><span style="font-size:12pt"><span style="font-family:"Times New Roman",serif"><span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Your first project will be a simple cushion cover. This will teach you to sew seam allowances. You will then progress to making a toiletry bag, learning how to insert a zip. </span></span></span></p>
<p><span style="font-size:12.0pt"><span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Your final project will be a pair of pyjamas shorts. This will cover using a pattern, cutting out and will start you in the field of dressmaking. </span></span></p>
<p><span style="font-size:12pt"><span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif"><span style="color:black">Fee includes fabric, zips and thread for first two projects. You will need to provide your own fabric and thread for the final project, but you will be advised by the tutor about fabric choice. </span></span></span></p>

What is the progression route?
<p><span style="font-size:12.0pt"><span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Upon completion, learners will have the opportunity to advance to other sewing courses, such as Part 2 of this course, or explore other dressmaking and soft furnishing courses.</span></span></p>
Are there any extra costs?
<p><span style="font-size:12.0pt"><span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Yes. Learners will need to provide fabric and thread for their final project. This should be around £10/£15 depending on fabric choice.</span></span></p>

Work set between sessions?

Refunds and cancellations
<ul>
<li><span style="font-size:12pt"><span style="font-family:"Times New Roman",serif"><span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">If we have to cancel your course your fees will be refunded in full. We are unable to reimburse the cost of materials you may have bought for the course.</span></span></span></li>
<li><span style="font-size:12pt"><span style="font-family:"Times New Roman",serif"><span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">If you cancel your course booking a week (7 days) or more before the start date we will refund your fees minus an admin charge of 20%.</span></span></span></li>
<li><span style="font-size:12pt"><span style="font-family:"Times New Roman",serif"><span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">If you cancel with less than a week (7 days) before the start date or after the course has started, we will not be able to refund your fees.</span></span></span></li>
<li><span style="font-size:12pt"><span style="font-family:"Times New Roman",serif"><span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Transfers will incur a fee of 10% and must be requested 7 days or more before the start of a course unless you are transferring to another course because your original course was cancelled.</span></span></span></li>
<li><span style="font-size:12pt"><span style="font-family:"Times New Roman",serif"><span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">We are not able to offer refunds due to sickness or ill health.</span></span></span></li>

Refunds will not be given for technical failure of a learner’s home computer or their internet access.</span></span></span></p>
