<p><span style="font-size:12.0pt"><span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Learn the basics to create your own clothing patterns. During this 2-day workshop, you will develop the technical skills and knowledge needed to design and create your very own garment patterns using the flat pattern cutting method. Fee includes a basic pattern cutting kit that you will be able to re-use after the course.</span></span></p>
<p><span style="font-size:12.0pt"><span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Please note, as kits need to be pre-ordered, enrolments will close 2 weeks before the start date.</span></span></p>
What can students expect?
<p><span style="font-size:12pt"><span style="font-family:"Times New Roman",serif"><span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Following a step-by-step process, you will:</span></span></span></p>

<li><span style="font-size:12pt"><span style="font-family:"Times New Roman",serif"><span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">learn how to take accurate measurements of the body</span></span></span></li>
<li><span style="font-size:12pt"><span style="font-family:"Times New Roman",serif"><span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">use these measurements to draft a block (</span><span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">bodice pattern made to your own measurements) </span><span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">on tissue paper </span></span></span></li>
<li><span style="font-size:12pt"><span style="font-family:"Times New Roman",serif"><span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">turn the block into a pattern of the bodice with added seam allowances </span></span></span></li>
<li><span style="font-size:12pt"><span style="font-family:"Times New Roman",serif"><span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">make a toile (a prototype) from unbleached calico to test the pattern. Where necessary, you will make adjustments to get a good fit. Some sewing experience is desirable to sew the toile</span></span></span></li>

<p><span style="font-size:12pt"><span style="font-family:"Times New Roman",serif"><span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">You will also discuss further designs and styles that can be made from your block. The tutor will advise you on textbooks and pattern cutting equipment.</span></span></span></p>
<p><span style="font-size:12.0pt"><span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">This course will be delivered at Stoke Lodge.</span></span></p>
Late starters allowed?
<p><span style="font-size:12pt"><span style="font-family:"Times New Roman",serif"><span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">No. This is a short course, and you may miss key instruction if you do not attend in full.</span></span></span></p>
Previous experience required?
<p><span style="font-size:12pt"><span style="font-family:"Times New Roman",serif"><span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Yes, some sewing experience is necessary, especially when creating the toile.</span></span></span></p>
What is the progression route?
<p><span style="font-size:12pt"><span style="font-family:"Times New Roman",serif"><span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">One of the many sewing courses at Stoke Lodge.</span></span></span></p>
Are there any extra costs?
<p><span style="font-size:12pt"><span style="font-family:"Times New Roman",serif"><span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">No. Fee includes kit and some core materials.</span></span></span></p>
Work set between sessions?
<p><span style="font-size:12pt"><span style="font-family:"Times New Roman",serif"><span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">No. But you may want to work on your project between the two days. You may also need to finish/progress your work following the course. </span></span></span></p>

Refunds and cancellations
<ul>
<li><span style="font-size:12pt"><span style="font-family:"Times New Roman",serif"><span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">If we have to cancel your course your fees will be refunded in full. We are unable to reimburse the cost of materials you may have bought for the course.</span></span></span></li>
<li><span style="font-size:12pt"><span style="font-family:"Times New Roman",serif"><span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">If you cancel your course booking a week (7 days) or more before the start date we will refund your fees minus an admin charge of 20%.</span></span></span></li>
<li><span style="font-size:12pt"><span style="font-family:"Times New Roman",serif"><span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">If you cancel with less than a week (7 days) before the start date or after the course has started, we will not be able to refund your fees.</span></span></span></li>
<li><span style="font-size:12pt"><span style="font-family:"Times New Roman",serif"><span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Transfers will incur a fee of 10% and must be requested 7 days or more before the start of a course unless you are transferring to another course because your original course was cancelled.</span></span></span></li>
<li><span style="font-size:12pt"><span style="font-family:"Times New Roman",serif"><span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">We are not able to offer refunds due to sickness or ill health.</span></span></span></li>

<p><span style="font-size:12pt"><span style="font-family:"Times New Roman",serif"><span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">If you are due a refund you must contact the office within 3 months of the course to arrange payment as we do not keep card details.</span></span></span></p>
