Description

Embark on a journey into the enchanting world of flower arranging with our Beginners course. Learn the essentials of flower conditioning, how to extend the life of your blooms, and the art of selecting and crafting arrangements for your home or as gifts for friends.

What can students expect?

You will discover the art of flower arranging using established techniques, exploring colour combinations and design principles. You will create simple yet elegant arrangements for your home to celebrate May Day and welcome the start of Spring.

This course will be delivered at Stoke Lodge.

What is the progression route?

Intermediates flower arranging course or one-day workshops.

Are there any extra costs?

Yes. The cost for flowers and materials for the course is approximately £150 per person. Payment to be made by cheque or card directly to the tutor during the first lesson. As flower prices are subject to change, the final cost will be confirmed by mid-December.

Work set between sessions?

No.

What should students bring?

<li>Secateurs or general-purpose scissors and sharp knife</li>
<li>Bucket </li>
<li>A vase approximately 20 cm in height and 13.5 cm across</li>
<li>Apron and small plastic storage container (to carry arrangement home and raise the height of your design on desk when standing up)</li>
</ul>

Informal style, a demonstration followed by a facilitated discussion

<li>Weeks 4&5: a container such as a decorative plant pot, the kind typically used for a houseplant</li>
</ul>

Refunds and cancellations

<ul>
<li>If we have to cancel your course your fees will be refunded in full. We are unable to reimburse the cost of materials you may have bought for the course.</li>
<li>If you cancel your course booking a week (7 days) or more before the start date we will refund your fees minus an admin charge of 20%.</li>
<li>If you cancel with less than a week (7 days) before the start date or after the course has started, we will not be able to refund your fees.</li>
<li>Transfers will incur a fee of 10% and must be requested 7 days or more before the start of a course unless you are transferring to another course because your original course was cancelled.</li>
<li>We are not able to offer refunds due to sickness or ill health.</li>
</ul>

If you are due a refund you must contact the office within 3 months of the course to arrange payment as we do not keep card details.

When attending an online course, it is a learner’s responsibility to ensure they have adequate internet access before the start of a course. Refunds will not be given for technical failure of a learner’s home computer or their internet access.
