Explore the Italian Renaissance through the masterpieces of Florence, Rome and Venice. Delve into the artistic innovations, cultural achievements, and influential figures that shaped these iconic cities and their lasting legacies in art history.

What can students expect?

Join us for an immersive course delivered through a PowerPoint presentation and informative handouts, featuring key information and stunning images of artworks. Engage in lively discussions and develop your skills to analyse artworks and identify renaissance features. 

The course will cover :

<li>The historical, political, and social context of the Renaissance</li>
<li>Breakthroughs in Art and Science </li>
<li>The Renaissance in Florence, Rome and Venice</li>
<li>The lasting impact of the Renaissance on the Artworld</li>
</ul>

Each week will focus on a different theme.

Late starters allowed?

Yes, however it is recommended you join by the second session to make the most of the course.

No.

What is the progression route?

Learners can enrol on other Art History courses at Stoke Lodge.

Are there any extra costs?

No.

Work set between sessions?

Learners will be given a reading list and links to websites for additional reading and research. This is to enhance their knowledge and is optional.

What should students bring?

A notebook to take notes and a folder for the handouts.

Teaching method/style?

PowerPoint presentation, handouts, discussions, analysis of artwork.

<li>Enrolments are non-transferable. If you are unable to attend, you will not be able to send another person in your place.</li>

Refund processing

<li>Refunds for online or telephone enrolments will be made via the original payment method within 14 days of approval. </li>
<li>If you enrolled in the office, you will need to come in with your payment card to arrange a refund.</li>

Transfers

<li>7 days or more before the start date: transfer minus a 10% transfer fee.</li>
<li>Less than 7 days before the start date or after the course has started: no transfer provided.</li>
<li>All transfers are subject to availability.</li>
<li>Transfers between Language levels may be possible with less than 7 days notice, subject to availability.</li>
