Description

Learn useful skills in Word, Excel and file management. Learning outcomes will be based on selected topics chosen within the group. This course is not suitable for beginners. Basic mouse and keyboard skills are essential.

What can students expect?

The aim of the course is to develop your skills in Word, Excel, File management, Internet and Email. Topics will be negotiated at the start of the course. Here is a sample:

<li>Use Word to create useful documents</li>
<li>Use Excel to organize, calculate and analyse data in a spreadsheet</li>
<li>Manage and organise your files</li>
<li>Internet and email skills</li>
<li>Online security</li>
</ul>

This course will be delivered at Stoke Lodge but will move to online delivery if necessary.

Please not that this course will take place in our computer room which is situated on the 1st floor. We have a standard chair lift, but unfortunately at the moment the building is not fully accessible.

Late starters allowed?

Yes – at session 2, but no later than that.

Previous experience required?

Yes, learners must have good basic computer skills and be able to use a mouse and keyboard.

What is the progression route?

Joining other computer courses.

Are there any extra costs?

No.

Work set between sessions?

There will be no work set between sessions, but learners are encouraged to practice at home.

What should students bring?

A pen and notepad to take notes in the session.

Teaching method/style?

The tutor will provide direct instructions and will offer individual support and guidance throughout the course.

Equipment Required

Our PCs at Stoke Lodge have MS Office installed for your use.

Course Cancellations and Refunds

If we cancel your course

If you cancel

<ul>
<li>7 days or more before the start date: refund minus a 20% administration fee.</li>
<li>Less than 7 days before the start date or after the course has started: no refund provided.</li>
<li>Enrolments are non-transferable. If you are unable to attend, you will not be able to send another person in your place.</li>
</ul>

Refund processing

<ul>
<li>Refunds for online or telephone enrolments will be made via the original payment method within 14 days of approval. </li>
<li>If you enrolled in the office, you will need to come in with your payment card to arrange a refund.</li>
</ul>

Transfers

<ul>
<li>7 days or more before the start date: transfer minus a 10% transfer fee.</li>
<li>Less than 7 days before the start date or after the course has started: no transfer provided.</li>
<li>All transfers are subject to availability.</li>
<li>Transfers between Language levels may be possible with less than 7 days notice, subject to availability.</li>
<li>Enrolments are non-transferable. If you are unable to attend, you will not be able to send another person in your place.</li>
<li>If we cancel your course, and you wish to transfer to another course this will be free of charge.</li>
</ul>

Illness and non-attendance
