Course description
<p>The course is designed to give you the knowledge and confidence to deal with some common first aid situations involving minor injuries with infants and children. The course is delivered in a relaxed, friendly and informative way.</p>
Course outcomes
<p><span style="font-size:10pt"><span style="font-family:"Times New Roman",serif"><em><span style="font-size:11.0pt"><span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">By the end of this course you will be able to:</span></span></em></span></span></p>
<ul>
<li><span style="font-size:10pt"><span style="font-family:"Times New Roman",serif"><span style="font-size:11.0pt"><span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Describe what to do in the case of choking </span></span></span></span></li>
<li><span style="font-size:10pt"><span style="font-family:"Times New Roman",serif"><span style="font-size:11.0pt"><span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Explain how to treat minor burns or scalds</span></span></span></span></li>
<li><span style="font-size:10pt"><span style="font-family:"Times New Roman",serif"><span style="font-size:11.0pt"><span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Identify at least 2 symptoms associated with a bump to the head</span></span></span></span></li>

Is this course suitable for me?
<p>No previous experience is required.</p>
What do I need to bring?
<p>Pen and paper for notes, plus a doll or teddy for role play practice.</p>

How will I learn?
<p>Learning will take place in a relaxed enjoyable session. Various teaching methods will be used supported by practical sessions.</p>
How will my progress be monitored and assessed?
<p>The session will have identified aims for you to achieve. Your progress will be monitored by question and answer and tutor observation.</p>
Are there any additional costs?
<p>There are no additional costs.</p>
What qualification will I get?
<p>This is a non-accredited course and therefore no qualification will be obtained.</p>
What will I be able to do after this course?
<p>The 6 hour Paediatric First Aid Certificate, or if required by Ofsted a formal 12 hour Paediatric First Aid course can be taken. There is also Emergency First Aid at work (adult first aid).</p>
