Course description

<p>This 2-session induction programme is aimed at jobseekers who would benefit from support in applying for jobs and preparing for interviews. </p>

<p>In the first session you will gain an overview of the job application process and understand what to consider when applying for jobs. We will cover where to look for a job and how to match skills and experience with a job profile. We will also practise filling in an example application form. </p>

<p>The second session will cover how to prepare for different types of interview (telephone/online/in person) to increase your chances of success. We will discuss what to do and say during the interview, including tips for handling common questions.</p>

<p>A course workbook will be provided for learners to complete on the course.</p>

Course outcomes

<p>By the end of the course you will be able to:</p>

<li>Identify at least 3 actions to prepare for an interview</li>
<li>Describe at least 3 points to improve interview performance</li>
<li>Prepare answers to a range of common interview questions</li>
</ul>

<p>This course is aimed at jobseekers who have completed New Start Induction part 1 (Job Search Skills) and would benefit from support in preparing for interviews. </p>

What do I need to bring?

<p>Notepad, pen and smartphone if you have one.</p>

How will I learn?

<p>You will learn through a mix of formal instruction, group discussion and individual written work.</p>

How will my progress be monitored and assessed?

<p>The tutor will observe participation in course activities and oversee completion of your workbook.</p>

<p>There are no additional costs.</p>

What qualification will I get?

<p>This is a non-accredited course and therefore no qualification will be obtained.</p>
